Infostore aims to provide accurate, up-to-date information for people over 50 in Leeds, their friends, carers, family and the people who work with them.

It brings together details of organisations, useful leaflets and other documents, news, events and activities within the Leeds Metropolitan area, along with more general advice and reference information of specific interest to older people.

It is one of the key ways of delivering the information aspiration of Older Better, a strategy to promote a healthy and active life for older people in Leeds 2006-2011.

Partnership

Infostore is a partnership between Leeds City Council, Leeds Older People’s Forum , and NHS Leeds.

Staffing

Infostore is staffed by editors and writers from within the Communications Team (Adult Social Care, Leeds City Council). The Development Manager is Sally Boyes and the main editor is Kat Balson. Nic Tortice is the Infostore development consultant and Chris Dunne is the Infostore development officer.
Web design and development is by CDS.

Governance and support

Infostore reports to Leeds Healthy and Active Life Group for Older People. The information in Infostore is supported by a network of theme champions.

Funding

Infostore is funded from Cities in Balance (European Union), Timely Information to Citizens (Department for Communities and Local Government) and the Social Care Reform Grant. Initial funding came from LinkAge Plus (Department for Work and Pensions).

Acknowledgements
