Adult education courses
You can do courses just for fun, to learn something new, or to get a qualification. Adult courses are usually for a couple of hours a week during the day or evening. Courses may run for just a few weeks or all year, depending on what you choose to do.

Day Centres offer a range of practical, therapeutic and social activities for people over 60. There are some day centres for older people from minority ethnic communities. Specialist day care is also available for people with dementia.

Armley Helping Hands are looking for donations of every day items to help with reminiscence work. They are developing a series of boxes containing tools, literature and all sorts of items to lend out to places such as nursing homes, day centres and schools, and to use in their own sessions.
Stroke survivors and carers in Leeds get extra help

Services for stroke survivors and their carers in Leeds will be improved as £400,000 of government funding has been awarded to Leeds City Council. The funding will be used to maximise the independence of people who have left hospital after a stroke, who need long term support with returning to work or community life.
